Buddy Reading
On Tuesdays after lunch recess all students share in the Buddy Reading program. Paired-up students read to each other; a reader with a non-reader, an older student with a younger student. The buddy pairings change every term, i.e., three times per school year.
The goal of this program is for students of various ages to work together, so the younger can learn from the older and vice versa.
Our school believes in group interaction, so all students are included in this program, and it’s also part of the Success Orientation Program. This creates an opportunity for all to build relationships outside the circle of their regular schoolmates. They step out of their comfort zones, meet others and reach out. |
