QSIL Advisory Board

Following are guidelines in the formation of an Advisory Board and procedures for the active Advisory Board:
1.
  Consists of from six to ten members who reside in Ljubljana.
2.  Members are jointly appointed by the Director and the President of QSI.
3.  The members shall meet no less than four times each school year.
4.  Married couples cannot be members jointly; only one member of a couple may hold this position.
5.  Neither teachers nor the Director's spouse are Advisory Board members, and they do not attend advisory board meetings.
6.  The length of a term on the Advisory Board shall be two years or less, but more than one year. The term expires on 30 June.
7.  A member may be appointed for additional two year terms.
8.  The Director is a member and is Chairman of the Advisory Board.

Objectives and Activities of the Advisory Board shall include the following:
a.
  Communicate ideas and concerns of parents and the community to the Director.
b.  Give recommendations with a view to formulating policies.
c.  Give advice and assistance concerning the school's relations with the host government.
d.  Help to maintain a positive image of the QSI school in the community.
e.  Review the annual budget.
f.   Periodically review expenditures during the school year.
g.  Be responsible for the scholarship policy, including revisions and implementation.
h.  Be actively involved in Advisory Board approved fund raising efforts.

Advisory Board members during the 2011-2012 school year:

  1. Mr. Jay M. Loftin - U.S.A. - Director of the International School of Ljubljana (1st 2-year term: appointed in May 2010)
  2. Mrs. Sonja Zver Gabrijelcic - Slovenia - Lawyer, Publikum d.d. (2nd 2-year term: appointed in October 2009)
  3. Mr. Dejan Turk - Slovenia - CEO, SiMobil d.d. (1st 2-year term: appointed in May 2010)
  4. Mrs. Jeniffer Imredy - U.S.A. - Diplomat, U.S.A. Department of State, Embassy of U.S.A.(1st 2-year term: appointed in September 2010)
  5. Ms. Alessandra de Felice - Italy - Diplomat, Embassy of Italy (1st 2-year term: appointed in October 2011)
  6. Mr. Sergio Farre Salva - Spain - Diplomat, Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain (1st 2-year term: appointed in October 2011)
  7. Mrs. Sharon Mussomeli - U.S.A. - Spouse, Embassy of U.S.A. (1st 2-year term: appointed in October 2011)
